400 Tech Savvy Civil Servants Attend FG Inaugural Of DevslnGovernment

In line with the call for civil servants who are tech savvy to register to participate in the DevsInGovernment event which we updated you here Register - Digital Empowerment For Public Servants, the organizers of the event received over 400 civil servants working in technology at the inaugural #DevslnGovernment community gathering.

DevsInGovernment is a platform that will allow the civil servants who run technology in government to collaborate, share constraints, access resources as well as build solutions, and we have seen at the event examples of this coming to life.

The Minister of the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy FMCIDE, Dr Bosun Tijani said In my time in government, I’ve seen enough to reinforce my belief that a technologically savvy and empowered workforce is critical for the development of a more efficient and effective government.

The quality of the conversations and engagement renewed my hope in the commitment and dedication of our technical workforce to work for the greater good as we invest in and build our Digital Public Infrastructure, the Minister stated.

From examples of challenges faced while collecting data for national planning to questions on how to encourage colleagues with novel ideas to explore, build, and implement them for our collective prosperity, he added.

This is the start of a re-energization and upliftment of the technical workforce in government with a broader goal of impacting how we serve our citizens. A big thank you to all who came out today and I know that as we commit to this journey, we will transform our processes to deliver a clear impact on government services, the Minister concluded.
