Apply For FG, Amazon Web Services Digital Skills Program For Nigerians
The Federal Ministry of Education, led by Honourable Minister Dr. Maruf Olatunji Alausa, has partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS) Academy to launch a national digital skills initiative targeting Nigerian educators and students.
Aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda and Nigeria Education Sector Renewal Initiative (NESRI), the programme aims to build 21st-century competencies in cloud computing, machine learning, and emerging technologies. Dr. Alausa described the effort as “timely and transformative,’ positioning Nigerian graduates and lecturers for success in the global digital economy.

The pilot phase has onboarded coordinators from 43 Federal Universities and Polytechnics. The programme now expands to all federal, state, and private tertiary institutions, including universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.
Institutional heads are requested to nominate coordinators who will facilitate lecturer enrollment and student participation.
To ensure broad access, the Ministry will cover 50% of certification costs, with AWS sponsoring the remaining 50%—making certification completely free for participants.
