It has come to our notice that the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC announced few days ago that the are going to recruit only youth corps members, students of federal government tertiary education institutions and federal civil servants to serve as ad-hoc staff in the 2019 General Election.
However, we think INEC can do better by allowing the graduate Volunteers under the FG N-power programme who are willing to participate in the 2019 General election serve as ad-hoc staff because most of the N-power volunteers had previously work with INEC in one way or the other as voter registration officer, proceeding officers and are experienced enough to handle most of the INEC materials. They will need less training and meet up fast with all INEC proceeding activities there by adding effectiveness in the 2019 General Election.
I think INEC should not limit the opportunity to only the three categories of people mentioned above, but also includes N-power volunteers to achieve the objective of the project. INEC should maintain and improve on the mode of ad-hoc recruitment done in 2015 by Jiga where those that has worked with INEC before were allowed to participate. #NPowerNG
