Covid 19 - KDSG Convert NYSC Orientation Camp To Isolation Centre To Quarantine Travelers

Effective from today, Travelers into Kaduna State will be stopped at entry points and given the option of returning to their departure point or be quarantined for 14 days. And the NYSC Orientation Camp along Abuja/Kaduna road will be prepared and used as a temporary isolation facility.

The Kaduna State Government has warned that travel into the state is a breach of its quarantine conditions. Travelers will be stopped at entry points and given the option to return to their departure point or face 14 days in an isolation facility. Enforcement starts today Thursday, 9th April.

Virtual meeting of the State Standing Committee on Covid-19 directed that all entry points will be barricaded and only authorized traffic given passage. Kaduna State imposed strict quarantine regulations in the interest of public safety and they will be strictly enforced.

This enforcement came as a result to the Deputy Governor of Kaduna State Dr. Hadiza Balarabe displeased by the way commuters and travelers were flouting the social distancing order at the point of entry into Kaduna State. The Deputy Governor and Chair of Kaduna State Task Force on Covid-19 was at the Toll Gate along Abuja road to ensure compliance to the directives.

She was directly involved in forcing all vehicles overloaded with passengers to offload and ensure only two persons are allowed on each row. She directed security personnel and the Task Force working at the point of entry to ensure strict compliance which is a necessary measure towards preventing the transmission and spread of the Coronavirus.
