What is A Strike? A strike is a form of labor action in which employees refuse to work. ASUU had on February 14 embarked on industrial action. The union led by Prof Emmanuel Osodeke said it made the decision for the Federal Government and its agencies to meet the lingering demands of the union.

Asuu Strike can have a negative effect on students because it disrupts the school day and can lead to missed assignments and tests. In some cases, the strike can also impact the ability of students to receive scholarships and other forms of financial aid.

Strikes can also cause headaches for parents who have to take care of their children during the strike. Often, schools are closed during a strike, so children may not be able to attend school. This can cause them to lose valuable educational opportunities.

Asuu Strike can also lead to idleness thereby occupying students with negative though or ideas that can lead them to crime.

In a country like Nigeria where education need upgrade, strike should not be an alternative to settle disputes between the university union and the government because at the end only the students suffers.
