HM Dr Betta Edu Weeks In Review September 4th 2023

In today's Latest Npower News, we will be reviewing HM Betta Edu's activities since she took over as Minister of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation. So keep reading!

1. On the 28th of August 2023, Dr Betta Edu attended the inaugural meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa’s Council Chamber in Abuja.

The Honourable Minister received the House of Reps member from Cross River state on a courtesy visit.

2. Also on 28th August 2023 Monday night, the Federal government high-level constituted committee, led by Dr. Betta Edu, alongside Minister of Environment, Dr. Ishaq Salako, Minister of Water Resources, Prof. Joseph Utsev, Minister of State for Water Resources, Sanitation, Bello Goronyo, addressed the press on the opening of the Lagdo dam by the Cameroonian authorities and Federal government plan in the prevention, mitigation and proffering solutions to flooding and its consequences.

3. On 30th August 2023, Dr Betta Edu met with the World Bank Country Director, Mr Shubham Chaudhuri and his team.

4. She also received briefings and presentations from the Agencies and Parastatals supervised by the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation on their functions and innovations to be introduced, on the 30th of August 2023.

5. On the 31st of August 2023, Dr. Betta Edu received a Delegation, led by Loannis Plotas, the Greece Ambassador to Nigeria, who has expressed his country’s readiness to support the Federal Government in its efforts to lift Nigerians out of poverty.

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation also called upon the Bill and Melinda Foundation to join hands with the federal government in combating the pressing humanitarian concerns and poverty challenges facing Nigeria. Later in the day, Dr. Betta Edu, during an interview with TVC News, reaffirmed President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to eradicating poverty in Nigeria.

6. On the 31st of August 2023, Dr Betta Edu attended the Think Tank Engagement with key stakeholders on policy formation and agenda setting for the ministry’s new mandate.

7. Also on September 1st 2023, the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Dr Betta Edu joined the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Sen Oluremi Tinubu, to attend the 2023 Grand Finale of Imo State August Meeting, hosted by the First Lady of Imo State Borr Chioma Uzodinma.

Finally, on the 2nd of September 2023, Dr Betta Edu, the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Dr Betta Edu on Radio Nigeria revealed plans of President Bola Tinubu’s towards Npower and other National Investment Programmes.
