The CCT programme is one of the government's answers to this challenge — ensuring that while reforms are ongoing, ordinary citizens are not left to suffer without support.
What is CCT: Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) is a government initiative designed to provide direct financial assistance to vulnerable and low-income households. The idea is simple — transfer cash directly to the poorest Nigerians under certain conditions, such as ensuring children go to school, attending health clinics, or meeting other welfare-linked requirements. This approach not only helps families meet their immediate needs but also encourages long-term investments in health, education, and wellbeing.
The RRR/CCT payment of N25,000 to over 2.1 million households has begun and each household will receive N25,000 three times.
