Transnet has signed an Agreement with the National Empowerment Fund(NEF) to establish the NEF/ https://www.transnet.net Transnet SMME Fund, a dedicated funding solution designed exclusively to support Transnet suppliers.

Who Qualifies?

To be eligible, your business must:

• Be a registered legal entity in South Africa in terms of the Companies Act, 2008 (as amended); Close Corporations Act,1984; or Co-operatives Act, 2005
• Be a taxpayer in good standing with a valid tax clearance certificate (at assessment and before loan disbursement)
• Be a current and registered Transnet supplier with a valid Transnet purchase order / Contract 
• Demonstrate commercial viability and sustainability in line with NEF funding criteria
• Be at least 51% black-owned Exempted Micro Enterprise (EME) or black-owned Qualifying Small Enterprise (QSE) in terms of the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) Codes of Good Practice.
