Job Opportunity: Nigeria Statutory Appointee Judge Of The ECOWAS 2026–2030 Term
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs invites qualified Nigerians to apply for the prestigious position of Statutory Appointee (Judge) for the 2026–2030 term. This role is based at the ECOWAS Community Court of Justice in Abuja, Nigeria.
Role Overview
Judges are responsible for the impartial adjudication of disputes falling within the Court's jurisdiction, including:
- Human rights violations and disputes between Member States.
- Interpretation and application of ECOWAS laws and Treaties.
- Promoting the rule of law and regional integration.
- Contributing to the development of Community jurisprudence.

Requirements & Qualifications
Academic & Judicial
- Must be qualified for appointment to a judicial position at the Supreme Court of Nigeria (or equivalent rank); OR
- Hold a Master of Laws (LL.M) with specialization in International Law, Community Law, or Integration Law.
Experience
- Minimum of twenty (20) years of professional experience as a Judge in a relevant field; OR
- Minimum of twenty (20) years as a Lawyer, Legal Counsel, or Academic with recognized expertise in international or regional integration law.
- Proven good moral character and high integrity.
