The Secretary to the Board (SB), Major General Abdulmalik Jibril (Rtd), disclosed this while briefing journalists after the Board's 01-26 meeting on behalf of the Chairman of the Board Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo at the Board Secretariat, Old Federal Secretariat Area 1 Abuja.
He explained that candidates who had reached the oral interview stage would be able to check their recruitment status and proceed with the mandatory drug test, to be conducted in collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
The SB emphasized that the drug test will be conducted free of charge, as the Federal Government will bear the cost. Candidates will, however, be given their letters of appointment after certification by the NDLEA that the candidate is free from illegal substance abuse.
He warned candidates against making payments for the exercise and urged anyone confronted with such demands to report the matter to the appropriate security authorities. The head of the four paramilitary agencies under the board were all present at the time of this press briefing.
