NYSC Promotes Made In Nigeria Products

In today's latest NYSC news - The Director General , National Youth Service Corps Brigadier General Shu'aibu Ibrahim has reiterated the resolve of the Scheme to utilise the creativity of Corps Members to produce Made in-Nigeria products.

He said this vision is being achieved through Skills Acquisition and Entreprenuership Development, as the Scheme engages Corps Members who work in NYSC Garment Factory, Table water, Bakery and Farms for production. General Shu'aibu was speaking when he received management of a Non Governmental Organisation , Business VISA Training Company LTD who paid him a courtesy visit.

He said as a Strategic policy thrust of his Administration, the NYSC has keyed in to Federal Government's drive at implementing Executive Order 004 on the effective utilisation of local content in producing made in Nigeria products. thereby accelerating the growth of the economy.

The DG further revealed that the NYSC, while still discharging its primary responsibility of promoting national unity is not oblivious of the need to encourage self reliance among graduate youth through many empowerment programmes. He cited the inauguration of the NYSC Cultural Troupe and other ventures as relevant steps towards this direction.

Earlier in his remarks, The Chief Executive of the Company Alh Sani Garba appreciated the NYSC for its many interventions towards youth empowerment and solicited for a partnership towards engaging Corps Members in using local content to create viable products.

He said his company is ready to harness the potentials of Corps Members by identifying commodities in high demand within their host communities and training them on specific skills to produce them.

While commending the giant strides of the Director General in giving NYSC a new lease of life, the CEO indicated keen interest in a robust collaboration in this regard.
