FG To Launch New Initiative To Empower 400k Youth With Credit In July 2025

As Nigerians celebrate Democracy Day, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu delivered an inspiring message of economic inclusion and empowerment. In a major announcement, the President revealed that over 400,000 young Nigerians, including members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), will benefit from the upcoming new government's consumer credit initiative for the youth. This landmark step is designed to help youths gain access to essential goods and services through affordable, government-backed financing plans.

Consumer credit is a crucial pillar in modern economies, enabling individuals to build financial trust and participate actively in the economy. Unfortunately, this system has largely been underdeveloped

According to President Tinubu, In less than one year, over one hundred thousand Nigerians, including thirty-five thousand civil servants, have benefited from affordable consumer credit through the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP), enabling them to purchase vehicles, light up and improve their homes and purchase life essentials.

This July, we will launch a bold new initiative to empower four hundred thousand young Nigerians, including youth corpers, with consumer credit, Mr President stated.
