How To Apply: New Application For TVET Trainers/STCs/VEIs/MCPs 2026 - The Federal Government via the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) application portal is still open for new trainers to register and get accredited this 2026 inline with the FG Technical and Vocational Education and Training TVET Program ongoing Nationwide to equip Nigerians with industry-relevant skills.
The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) is an organ of the Federal Ministry of Education which is charged with the responsibility of regulating Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions in Nigeria. The Board was created by an Act of Parliament (Act No. 9 of 11 January, 1977) as a response to the federal Government of Nigeria realization of the need to develop a critical man-power base to execute the nation’s National Development Plans initiated in the 1970s.

Who can apply:
The Federal Government is calling on the following trainers to register for accreditation:
- Skill Training Centres (STCs)
- Vocational Enterprise Institutions (VEls)
- And Mastercraft Persons (MCPs)
Accreditation will enable them to receive government funding to train candidates under the TVET Program.
Registration Criteria
1. Vocational Enterprise Institutions (VEIs)
a. Must be registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
b Must adopt National Skills Qualification (NSQ)-Based Curricula.
c. Must have at least one qualified instructor per trade.
d. Must maintain a 1:40 instructor-to-student ratio.
e. Each trade must have a Quality Assurance Assessor (QAA).
f. Each trade must have an Internal Quality Assurance Manager (IQAM), or engage part-time personnel if unavailable.
2. Skill Training Centres (STCs)
a. Must be CAC-registered.
b. Must implement NSQ-Based Curricula.
c. Each program requires a qualified instructor or an experienced senior artisan with at least NSQ Level 3 certification.
d. Must have at least one QAA.
e. Must have one certified IQAM or engage part-time personnel if necessary.

3. Mastercraft Persons (MCPs)
a. Must possess either a CAC registration or a National Identification Number (NIN).
b. Must adopt NSQ-Based Curricula.
c. Must have at least one qualified instructor or experienced artisan with NSQ Level 3 certification.
d. The training environment must include workshops and restrooms.
e. Must have records of past training programs and certifications awarded.
Additional Information:
a. Accredited institutions and individuals will be eligible for government funding to train candidates under the TVET Program.
