The South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) is the National Medicines Regulatory Authority established in terms of the Medicines and Related Substances Act, 101 of 1965, as amended, to monitor, evaluate, regulate, investigate, inspect, register and control medicines, schedule substances, clinical trials and medical devices, including IVDs, and related matters in the public interest.

The South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (GAHPRA) has officially opened applications for its Graduate Internship Programme for the 2026/2027 financial year.

This structured, 12-month program provides unemployed South African graduates with valuable work exposure in healthcare regulation, medicine compliance, and public sector operations.

Qualification:

a. A Matric certificate alongside an appropriate National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Natural Sciences, Health Sciences, or a closely related field (NQF level 6 or 7) recognised by SAQA.

Stipend: A competitive monthly allowance of R16,666.66.

Duration: 12 Months (fixed-term).

Location: Pretoria.
