FG Reveals Take Off Date For New Special Teachers Salary

Following the approval of the new Special Teachers Salary Scale by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2020 which you can read here Buhari Uplift Teachers Salary, Automatic Employment For Education Graduates, the Government of Nigeria have disclosed that the take-off is expected on January 1, 2022.

The President also approved a new (extended) Retirement Age (65) and Length of Service (40 years), for Teachers in Public Basic & Secondary Schools in Nigeria.

President Buhari also in 2020, approved the establishment of 6 new Federal Polytechnic (one per geopolitical zone), in the following towns/cities: Kaltungo, Gombe State; Ayede, Oyo State; Daura, Katsina State; Shendam, Plateau State; Ohodo, Enugu State; Ugep, Cross River State.

Under the phased implementation of the National Youth Policy, 6 Federal Science & Technical Colleges (FSTC) were established in 2020, as follows: FSTC Ogugu, Kogi FSTC Hadeija, Jigawa FSTC Umuaka, Imo FSTC Igangan, Oyo FSTC Ganduje, Kano FSTC, Amuzu in Ebonyi

According to the Government of Nigeria, five (5) additional Federal Science and Technical Colleges (FSTC) will come on stream in 2021. They will be located in Bauchi, Plateau, Sokoto, Enugu, and the Cross River States.

In 2020, approval was granted to TETFundNg to disburse Three Hundred and Ninety-Five Billion, Thirty-Two Million, Three Hundred and Seventy-Five Thousand Naira (N395,032,375,000) for the development of infrastructure & capacity development of personnel in tertiary institutions. This TETFundNg expenditure is apart from the budgetary allocations, and Revitalization funds to Universities said the Government of Nigeria.
