What the program is

The Renewed Hope National Agricultural Mechanisation Program is a nationwide initiative launched by the Bank of Agriculture (BOA) together with Heifer Nigeria to expand access to affordable mechanisation services across Nigeria. The program supports the Federal Government's drive to increase tractor penetration by sustainably financing and managing 2,000 tractors procured for the scheme through a Pay-As-You-Go lease model.

Key benefits for participants

The program is built to help small- and medium-scale farmers, youth and women access modern farm machinery while reducing upfront cost and technical barriers:

• Preventive maintenance & technical support delivered through mechanisation hubs to keep machines working and reduce downtime.
• Digital tracking via IoT so usage, location and performance can be monitored for efficient operations and accountability.
• Flexible repayment plans linked to usage and income generation to align payments with real farm cash flows.

Who is eligible

The program targets participants who will actively use, manage or run mechanisation services:

• Women in Mechanisation
• Youth in Mechanisation (Ages 18–35)
• Mechanisation Companies and service providers

Lease features & conditions

Applicants should note the key lease terms below when applying:

• Lease term: 3–5 years
• Interest rate: 15%
• Down payment: 25%

Special terms for women & youth

There are special selection terms and conditions for women and youth. Applicants in these categories will be assessed against specific criteria which are detailed in the application form. Successful applicants will be notified via email and/or SMS.
