Apply: South Africa Compensation Fund Seeks Presiding Officers (COIDA)
The Compensation Fund, under South Africa’s Department of Employment and Labour, has announced an opportunity for suitably qualified legal professionals to apply for the position of Presiding Officers for COIDA services across all provinces.
This recruitment aims to strengthen the adjudication of objections lodged against decisions made by the Compensation Commissioner under the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act (COIDA)

Requirements
- BProc or LLB degree
- Admitted as an Attorney or Advocate
- Minimum of five (5) years or more practical legal experience
- Medico-legal experience will be an added advantage
- Must be in good standing with the Legal Practice Council of South Africa
Duties and Responsibilities
Successful applicants will be required to preside over hearings of objections conducted in terms of Sections 56 and 91 of the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act, Act 130 of 1997 (as amended). These hearings relate to objections against decisions taken by the Compensation Commissioner.

Important Notes
- This is not a permanent position within the Compensation Fund or the Department of Employment and Labour.
- Engagement will be based on the availability of objection cases.
- Appointment will be for a period of five (5) years.
