How to Apply for or Get Involved with the FG IITA YALTF Programme 2026
Following the launched of the Youth in Agribusiness Land Trust Fund YALTF a few days ago by the Federal Government in collaboration with IITA, a lot of youths has been asking for the link to apply for the YALFT program. So we decided to create this post to give you an idea on how you can participate. So keep reading!
According to the Federal Government, IITA is prepared to begin training more than six million young Nigerians who have already expressed interest in agriculture, creating a strong pipeline of future agripreneurs across the country. The initiative will transform 42 Youth Development Centres into Agribusiness Hubs, giving young Nigerians access to land, skills, finance, and markets.
Since this is a new launched initiative, there is no clear application guidelines yet. However, the Federal government said IITA is prepared to begin training more than six million young Nigerians under this program over the next three years and support 500,000 agribusiness enterprises.

How to Apply or Get Involved
1. Check Official Channels for Updates — Monitor announcements from the key partners, as application calls, eligibility details, registration forms, or pilot phases are likely to be posted soon:
a. Federal Ministry of Youth Development: Visit their official website (if available) or follow @fmydNG on X for calls, guidelines, and links.
b. IITA: Check https://www.iita.org, their youth agribusiness pages (e.g., youth-focused programs like lYA or ENABLE), or follow @IITA_CGIAR on X for any related openings or training tied to YALTF.
c. IITA Youth Agripreneurs site: youthagripreneurs.org — they often list capacity-building, training, and enterprise opportunities.
2. Express Interest via Existing Channels — Many youths will be drawn from the Ministry's database of those who previously registered interest in agriculture/agribusiness programs
a. Contact the Federal Ministry of Youth Development directly (via their offices, state coordinators, or the 42 National Youth Development Centres in your area) to register your interest or inquire about YALTF enrollment.
b. Reach out to IITA’s Youth Agripreneurs Unit (email: [email protected] or via their contact forms) for guidance on related youth programs that may feed into YALTF.
