This Guinness World Record Attempt is a National Reading Relay that brings together leaders and young people from all 36 states and the FCT in a virtual video relay reading of the book My Family Companion.
My Family Companion, authored by Dr. Otubo Victor, is a groundbreaking, easy-to-read family health book written for everyday individuals and families. Described as a “medically non-medical” book, it addresses essential topics such as sex, marriage preparation, pregnancy, infant care, maternal health, role of male partners, and common childhood illnesses. The book takes readers on a journey from singlehood to parenthood, offering practical medical guidance in a warm, conversational style. Each chapter begins with a real-life, relatable story, making it feel like a trusted family doctor is speaking directly to you.

The Federal Ministry of Youth Development (FMYD) is proud to partner with Dr. Otubo Victor, My Family Companion (MFC) Initiative, the Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria (MWAN), and Red Media to provide this national empowerment opportunity for young Nigerians, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
By completing the form, you are applying to participate as a reader in the National Reading Relay. Please note that the selection process is competitive, and applicants are expected to provide information that they can support with evidence.
In line with Guinness World Record guidelines, all selected participants must have:
1. A laptop with a good-quality webcam
2. Reliable and strong internet access
3. Willingness to comply with all guidelines before, during, and after the event
