How To Benefit From BOA Farm Inputs Distribution To 500000 Farmers
Earlier today, we shared an update telling you that the Bank of Agriculture has Commenced Distribution of Farm Inputs to 500,000 Smallholder Farmers Nationwide under the Renewed Hope Smallholder Support and Value Chain Fund program, and some of you were asking about how to benefit from the program. So I decided to create this post to share more light on how farmers benefits from such program. So keep reading!
To answer your questions on how to apply, I will start by saying that Individual smallholder farmers do not apply directly to BOA for this specific distribution in most cases. It operates primarily through Farmer Aggregation Companies (FACs) and cooperatives .
Recall that a few months ago, we post here on this blog when the Bank of Agriculture call for application inviting Farmer Aggregation Companies (FACs) to apply and participate as accredited aggregation partners under the Renewed Hope Smallholder Support and Value-Chain Fund (RH- SHF). Read the call for applications here Apply: BOA Launches the Renewed Hope Smallholder Support Fund
The Renewed Hope Smallholder Support and Value-Chain Fund (RH- SHF)is a strategic financing intervention designed to provide affordable credit, quality inputs, extension services, and guaranteed market off-take to smallholder farmers across Nigeria. Aggregators play a critical role in farmer mobilization, input distribution, production support, harvest aggregation, and market linkage.
Ways To Register As Farmer
1. Contact local Farmer Aggregation Companies or cooperatives that are registered with BOA— These vetted partners (about 20 initially) mobilise farmers, distribute inputs, and handle linkages. Check with your state’s Ministry of Agriculture, local government agriculture office, or farmers’ associations (e.g., All Farmers Association of Nigeria) for participating aggregators in your area.
2. Open a BOA account — Many BOA-supported programs require or benefit from a farmers’ account. Visit a BOA branch near your project/location or explore online registration options via their portals for personal accounts). This helps with access to loans, grants, and future interventions.
3. Visit BOA branches or state ADP offices — Inquire about registration for the program or linkage to an aggregator. Some states use digital farmer registries or e-voucher systems.
