FG Call For Application: Commonwealth Scholarship And Fellowship Plan CSFP 2027/2028

The Honorable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, invites applications from qualified Nigerian University graduates to participate in the 2027/2028 Commonwealth Scholarships and Fellowship Plan (CSFP) nomination exercise. The awards are tenable in the United Kingdom in any of the two categories:

• One year taught Masters course; or
• Doctoral degrees of up to three years duration.

ELIGIBILITY:

• A First Degree of at least Second Class Upper for Masters;
• A Relevant Masters degree in addition to at least a Second Class Lower Division in his/her 1st Degree for Doctoral;
• Admission into at least two (2) U.K. Institutions;
• Candidates for Doctoral study must provide a supporting statement from a prospective Supervisor from their chosen institutions in the UK;
• Evidence of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

HOW TO APPLY:

All applications should be made through the Electronic Application System (EAS).

1. Click on EAS portal, register and complete the form online.
2. Upload your scanned passport photograph, all university academic transcripts, birth certificate and admission letter received from a UK Institution listed in the application form.
3. Submit your completed application form online on or before 20th October, 2026.
4. Create PDF version of the completed form, download and print one (1) hard copy for submission at the interview venue.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

• All Foreign Certificates must be accompanied by official translation and evaluation.
• Candidates should consider the following developmental priority areas of Nigeria as applicable to specific field of specialization in writing their proposal: Education, Health, Economic Growth and the Private Sector, Governance and Conflict, Climate and Environment, Water and Sanitation, Engineering, Science & Technology, Food and Nutrition, Humanitarian Disasters and Emergencies.
• Applications will be graded on Academic merit, Development impact on completion of the study and Quality of Study plan.
