Today's Latest Npower News For December 2025
In today's latest Npower news for December 2025, Human rights lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Femi Falana, has called on the Federal Government to fully implement the N-Power and other National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) initiatives in line with the provisions of Nigerian law.
He raised this matter along side other matters that concerns all Nigerians including workers welfare during a protest in Lagos.
Falana emphasized that social intervention programmes such as N-Power, Conditional Cash Transfer, Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP), and other NSIP schemes are not optional policies but legal obligations backed by legislation. According to him, once a programme is established by law, the government has a constitutional duty to implement and sustain it for the benefit of citizens.

The senior lawyer noted that these programmes were created to address poverty, unemployment, and social inequality, especially among youths and vulnerable Nigerians. He warned that failure to implement them effectively undermines public trust, worsens economic hardship, and violates the rights of citizens who depend on such interventions for survival and Empowerment
As economic challenges continue to affect households across the country, Falana’s call serves as a reminder that ÷social protection is a legal responsibility, not a political favor. Proper implementation of NSIP programmes, he said, would go a long way in reducing poverty and restoring hope among Nigerians.

The question remains: will the government rise to its legal and moral responsibility to ensure these programmes work as intended?
