Important Message From N-Power To N-Tax Applicants (Must Read).

These information was shared on N-Power Official Facebook page and as usual, in order to keep the N-power Discussion Group Members updated, we decided to write a soft copy for your reading pleasure.

N-Power commenced the 2017 Application on the 13th of June, 2017. N-Power Tax, a new category, was introduced to enlist and train N-Power Volunteers as Community Liaison Tax Officers under the voluntary assets and income declaration Scheme (VAIDS). VAIDS is an initiative of the Federal Ministry of Finance and the Joint Tax Board that encourages non-compliant taxpayers to voluntarily declare their correct income and assets and pay the appropriate tax, as well as, widen the tax net.

N-Power will select 7,500 qualified N-Power Volunteers who will undertake tax promotion, document review, record keeping, tax enquiries response, customer management, report writing, amongst others, under VAIDS.

On the 29th of June, 2017, the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, issued an Executive Order instituting VAIDS. VAIDS has a lifespan of 9 months commencing on the 1st of July, 2017. As a result, the N-Power Tax category will operate an expedited selection process. In connection with this, all applicants are invited to note:
  • First, the 2-week extension of the N-Power application does not apply to N-Power Tax. As of the 14th of July, applicant for N-Power Tax closed with 229,245 applications.
  • Secondly, the designated physical interviews for N-Power Tax, as required by the Federal Ministry of Finance, will commence immediately and run contemporaneously with the assessments. As such, Applicants who have already written their assessments and passed may soon be invited for physical interviews.
  • Other N-Power Tax applicants will be notified to write their tests starting on Saturday, July 15th 2017 up till Wednesday July 19th 2017.
