As part of the pre-disbursement process in the FADAMA Graduate Unemployed Youth and Women Support FADAMA GUYS programme, the project has commenced a re-validation exercise across the 23 participating states. This is a verification and screening exercise designed to ensure that the candidates who would be supported are those that have undergone the relevant training and are still willing to become agri-preneurs.

The FADAMA Graduate Unemployed Youth and Women Support FADAMA GUYS is an initiative of the FGN-World Bank FADAMA Additional Financing III, in line with its development objective and the Federal Government's Agricultural Promotion Policy, the Green Alternative.

The FADAMA guys programme has trained 5,916 candidates, competitively selected in 23 states in collaboration with 60 training institutions across the country. These candidates have adopted simple and fundable agricultural enterprise modules in various agribusinesses ranging from poultry, fishery, smaII/large ruminant fattening, crop production, processing, extension services etc.

Primarily, the programme aims to introduce a pool of unemployed graduate youth and women to new agribusiness ideas thereby leveraging their energy, motivation, and innovation to strengthen the drive for the diversification of the economy and social change, and enhancing national food security.
