The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) is taking a bold step toward economic empowerment and environmental sustainability. Under its Skills Development Training and Empowerment Programme, the NDDC has officially opened applications for its Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Vehicle Conversion Training.
This initiative isn’t just about learning a new trade; it’s about positioning the youth of the Niger Delta at the forefront of the "Autogas" revolution in Nigeria.
Why This Training Matters
As the nation looks for more affordable and eco-friendly alternatives to traditional fuel, the demand for specialists in CNG conversion is skyrocketing. This program aims to:
- Equip beneficiaries with high-demand technical skills in Autogas Conversion Technology.
- Stimulate job creation and local economic growth across the nine states.
- Contribute to a cleaner environment by reducing harmful vehicle emissions.
General Criteria for Selection
- Origin: Must be an indigene of any of the nine (9) states in the Niger Delta Region.
- Age: Between 18 and 35 years old.
- Education: Minimum of SSCE/WAEC in Science-related subjects, OND (Sciences), or a Trade Test Certificate.
- Background: Fresh graduates in engineering or those with technical qualifications in automotive/mechanical trades are highly encouraged to apply.
Important Application Rules
- Single Submission: Multiple applications will lead to automatic disqualification.
- New Candidates Only: Previous beneficiaries of NDDC skills acquisition programs are not eligible.
- Verification: Selected candidates must produce original copies of educational and Local Government identification certificates before final selection.
