The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) offers a Military Skills Development (MSD) program on a two-year contract. During the first year of service, recruits undergo initial military training followed by specialized functional warning within their respective Services. In the second year. depending on the requirements of their specific mustering, members are deployed to various Units where they are given the opportunity to apply their knowledge, develop leadership qualities, and enhance their practical sulis in a professional environment.

Application Requirements:

1. RSA Citizen (No dual citizenship).

2. 18-22 years of age (Grade 12)

3. 16-26 years of age when reporting. (3 years Tertiary Qualification)

4. Admission Point Score (APS) 18 and above, excluding Life Orientation (LO) (Maths & Physical Science wil be required for specialised musterings or Aviation engineering etc)

5. Have no criminal record or pending cases.

6. Comply wth medical requirements (Applicants wil be subjected to drug testing. psychometric and medical evaluation)

7. No Visible tattoos (when in uniform), verification through body inspection.
