IN BENUE: The Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh on Saturday distributed some farm machinery to farmers in Benue State.
The exercise which took place at Oja Village, Okpomaju in Otukpo Local Govt area, aims to ease farmers' burden and gradually bring an end to farmers-herders clashes in the region.
Speaking during the exercise, the Minister said making the handy machinery available in a village like Oja is in line with the Ministry's duty of taking life to the rural areas through agricultural mechanization; thereby boosting their economic potentials.
Agricultural machinery distributed include reapers, threshers and cattle feed mill machines, all locally fabricated in Nigeria.
The Honourable Minister was also honoured with a chieftaincy title by the Ocho'Otukpo, Chief John Eimonye. Chief Ogbeh was conferred with the title the "Ogleji ko'Otukpo" meaning "The great farmer of Otukpo". See more photos below:
